This weekend was good times. I went to a couple of Halloween parties, one of them I dressed up for. Check that out here. I got to wakeboard and I shot a prospective advertisement for my favorite wakeboard brand. Then I found out today how far behind on my homework I am. My grades are fine though. It has been rad in San Marcos. I will be sad to leave but I will also be amped to be back in the golden triangle making stacks and having access to a 16mm camera. Then I have graduation to look forward to in May and I’ll get to hang with my old friends for a while. Today I found out I was let into film production II at Lamar and I am so excited to shoot on 16mm film. Look at Colin’s journo, he went to NYC recently and has a cool post about it.

Well this weekend was almost a huge waste of money but I ended up getting to winch and also get a few photos. The plans for the weekend failed but me and Maximo ended up getting to shred some correx. Andrew Adams took some pictures of me and I took some of Max that I will be sending to the magazines. It was pretty rad finally getting to ride something that I have been wanting to hit for a long time. Next weekend should be a huge weekend with shredtown then wake photography will probably slow down for the winter. It will suck not shooting because it’s been going so well, but it will also be good for me because I desperately need to get a job.

I made some dreamcatchers today. Then I took some pictures of them to show you. The middle and right one are the ones I made today, it was a lot of fun deciding what materials to get and putting them together. I plan on making many more in the future but these two are gifts that I am giving to friends this weekend. The dreamcatcher on the left is one that I made many years ago, I am not sure how young I was but it was definitely a while back.

I just finished putting together my first portfolio of wakeboard and wakeskate images. I get to look at it and decide if that is what I want to show riders and brands. I printed it as an assignment for one of my classes but I will be showing some riders in the area that I really look forward to working with and if I am happy with this copy it will end up in the mail to a home on Lake Georgia. Hopefully the design looks good. The main thing I am worried about is the cover but we will see.

I think I broke my phone, I for sure can’t use it right now. I was skateboarding in the dark from one store to another and I hit the concrete going like 80mph and broke my touch screen, it didn’t crack or anything just the touch screen doesn’t work anymore. The skateboard stopped so fast that my front foot shoe came off, it stayed with the skateboard. I am currently backing it up so I don’t lose any phone numbers, I definitely shouldn’t spend the money I have on a new phone but I think I may have to because I need a phone. Crap.

I have my own folder on Wakeboarding Magazine’s FTP now and that’s great news.

The new shredtown edit is up, check it out.

I got to wakeboard with veteran Pat McElhinney today and that was rad.

Also, I have some photos up on alliancewake.com. Check out the snaps section.

Today when I was walking to my car from class a girl drove next to me and asked if she could bring me to my car and have my parking spot. That is how bad parking is at my school. I think I finally get to go wakeboarding tomorrow. I am making a book in my photography class and I was planning on doing a bunch of pictures like the ones in the last post with the deer but instead I will be making a portfolio of wake photos because I need a portfolio and I might as well go ahead and get it now so it will count as an assignment and I don’t have to spend money printing two different books.

Today I slept twenty minutes past the start of my first class. I had an assignment due that I had not completed so I had to finish it once I woke up but that was just cutting around some photos and gluing them to matte board. I left for school and got to campus super late and just drove around for a while because there were no parking spots. Then I found one that I could drive into but I couldn’t get out of my car. I tried the four doors but there was no way to fit. So I thought about climbing out of a window, then opening the back then crawling through to roll up the window then crawling back out of the back; but, I couldn’t get out of a window without stepping on the cars next to mine and probably doing some damage to them. So I cussed a bunch then drove around more until I saw Kennon, then I rushed back to the spot that was too small and called Kennon to come open the back so I could crawl out. So I got mad at the fool that didn’t park correctly but I guess I should be glad because he created a spot that was too small for anyone to try to park there. I ended up getting to class an hour and a half late but everything was fine.

I have an assignment due monday in photography class that has to do with using lighting. It has been raining a bunch so I haven’t done much until today I took these inside my home. I will turn in these two deer pictures with eight more that I have to think up.

I am about to go to a study session and as far as I can remember it will be the first time I have gone to a group study, I have to tighten up though so I can keep up the scholarship.

I may try to work at a ski resort over the winter break, snowboarding for thirty days would be so fresh. I am also thinking about returning to Lamar in January to finish my education. I liked the way things worked at that school, I don’t really care for my classes so far because they seem pretty elementary. The faculty doesn’t seem as passionate or insightful as some of the instructors that I liked at Lamar. That makes a huge difference to me because that is who I am learning from and the reason I am in school is to learn. It is always pretty rough thinking that where I want to go is going to be better than where I am and then I get there and am let down. I was having an awesome time in the Golden Triangle before I left so if I head back to finish school then I will get the education that I want and I can do whatever I want after graduation without having to commit to so much. I am definitely glad about where I am at though. I always am pretty happy with the decisions that I make because they are always a learning experience. Some definite good has come out of me living here as well. Enough about that. I talked to my little sister yesterday and she told me that she painted some cardboard boxes at the camp and that it was fun and looked cool. Then today I was talking to my Mom about Emily and art and my Mom told me that Emily splatter painted those boxes, and it was inside the camp. I laughed a lot about splatter painting indoors. Here are a couple of assignments that I recently turned in in one of my classes, they are heavily inspired by Mark Weaver. They are what I would like to do as far as the projects that Colin and myself were doing. I haven’t been doing that everyday though; Colin has however and he is making some very cool stuff, check it out.
